Gunner Magnus Smith, Royal Garrison Artillery. Son of Magnus and Joanne, Sandwick, Shetland. Killed on the 13th of July 1917 in the vicinity of Henin. His battery was shelled by German Howitzers. Magnus was aged just 18. He is buried at St Martin Calvaire British Cemetery.@CWGC

Seaman Laurence Bruce Hutchison, Royal Naval Reserve, served on board H.M.S. Duchess of Hamilton. Son of Laurence and Margaret of Skaw, Whalsay, Shetland. His vessel was sunk by German mine on the 29th of November, 1915. He is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial. @CWGC
