69 years ago today, 9 brave African American kids walked into Little Rock Central High School testing the limits of desegregation in the South. I had the honor of visiting Central when I was in Arkansas and I was reminded that this isn’t ancient history—it is within living memory. There are people who want to “go back” to a world most wouldn’t even recognize. We cannot take these advances for granted. We must continue to fight for equality every single day.
