Fall Preview: Jordan Ferrell @JordanFerrell23 After gaining valuable game experience during his first season at Troy, Jordan Ferrell enters the 2026 campaign looking to carve out a larger role along the Trojans' defensive front. The 6-foot-4, 221-pound redshirt sophomore possesses the length, athleticism, and versatility to contribute at the Bandit position as he continues his development in Troy's defense. Ferrell appeared in four games during the 2025 season before preserving his redshirt. He recorded his first collegiate tackle in Troy's victory over Louisiana, providing a glimpse of the potential that made him an intriguing addition to the roster. His path to Troy has been anything but traditional. Before joining the Trojans, Ferrell spent time at Central Georgia Technical College and Mars Hill University, bringing added maturity and experience to the program. Since arriving in Troy, he has continued to develop physically while learning the intricacies of the Trojans' defensive scheme. A standout at Archer High School in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Ferrell built a reputation for his size, speed, and ability to pressure opposing quarterbacks. Those traits have continued to develop as he has gained experience competing against Sun Belt competition. Entering fall camp, Ferrell will compete for additional snaps in Troy's Bandit rotation. His length and pass-rushing ability make him an intriguing option off the edge, while his experience in the program gives him an opportunity to become a more consistent contributor on defense and special teams. With another year of growth and confidence under his belt, Ferrell has the tools to emerge as an impact player for the Trojans in 2026.
