Frank Miller's warning about censorship and free speech from the Sin City letters page in 1994 is eerily prescient and more true today than when it was written 30 years ago.
I only went to "闇太郎" once, back in 2015, but the Master was kind and sold me one of the last copies of the book. Sadly my book was lost in the mail when I left Japan. I wish I could replace it. I hope the Master can enjoy a relaxing retirement!
I just realized that traditional cel animation is extinct simply because there's no longer enough animators alive that know how to do it. We'll never see an actual hand-painted cel animation feature ever again. It's a lost art form.
My sister's husband is dying tonight. He was a really good guy and they don't deserve this. I hope his faith brings him some measure of comfort in this time. If you're also a person of faith, please say a quick prayer for his immortal soul. Thank you.
My dream lineup of Mafex Joker would look like this. I already have Heath and Leto, but Phoenix may be too expensive. I really wish they would make a Nicholson, so I don't have to rely on the 7 inch McFarlane figure with no real likeness.
Happy birthday to Frank Miller, who turns 69 today. In honor of that and the insane snow and wind whipping around outside, here's some pics of Marv fighting the winter elements as he walks in a rare Sin City blizzard.
I wish there were some kind of catchy pejorative we could give nose rings like "tramp stamp." That was the ultimate. It caught on like wildfire and left millions of women embarrassed to be caught being so stupid. At least nose rings can be taken out.
Question for 大友克洋/AKIRA fans...we know the first guy is Yamada and he has a small cameo in the movie. What about the Spy? Does he also appear in the movie?
大友克洋 new work "Procession Spin" is absolutely gorgeous. I hope I can see it in person someday. I also hope that a print or poster of the original art will be available. It's an absolute masterpiece!
