Here’s our interview today with Sergei Murashov, who truly might be the most interesting man in hockey. Only 22, Murashov has a thoughtful way about him that is truly unique. Hope you’ll enjoy it:

You never know how many home openers Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang will have together. This could be the final one. Will no doubt be wonderful theater when they are introduced. Make sure you get to PPG early tonight. It will be a treat.
Sat down with Sam Girard to discuss … Sam Girard.
He’s healthy now. And finally comfortable in Pittsburgh. He looks like a different player. On this version of Girard, one that could be a real difference maker for the Penguins:

When is the last time there was a weekend in October when the Steelers, Pitt and Penn State did not play? Wonder if that's a first.
Pens/Habs this evening will have to do.
Silovs to start tonight. Clearly they’re being a little careful with Murashov. I would expect we will see Murashov against Winnipeg on Monday, with Silovs drawing the Caps in Washington on Wednesday.

Total class act. Teammates absolutely love him. Can’t imagine what he’s been through but is clearly handling a terrible situation with enormous amounts of grace.
There is an undercurrent of Steelers fans who get very, very upset when someone criticizes Herbig or Benton. This is strange to me. I’m old enough to remember when people were happy when they won and sad when they lost, as opposed to cheering for random, overpaid players.
I’m about 90 percent sure that kick was good. Wild that we review everything to extremes in sports, but not that?
That said, if James Franklin is unhappy, then it’s a good night.
Had a chat with Ben Kindel today. Said he was highly aggravated that he had to miss any time because of injury but that coaches and medical staff reminded him that there are 84 of these things and it’s not the end of the world to miss one.
He’s a gamer.
Good to see Andrei Kuzmenko on the ice today. Impossible to fathom what he’s been through. Appears in good spirits. Has been a hit with his new teammates since Day 1.
