A lie will easily get you out of a scrape, and yet, strangely and beautifully, rapture possesses you when you have taken the scrape and left out the lie. - Charles Montague

The innovations coming from AI are practically really high-level corroborations. The models aren't composing new information from scratch, but they work really well at human collaboration. It's the end result in the age of information.

About 10 years ago Windows search in Explorer just stopped working after one update. It hasn't worked for me on any computer since then. When did this become acceptable behavior? Spotlight/Search on MacOS is instant.

AI is showing us that a lot of what we thought were software problems, are actually people problems.

We can't switch to AI spam filters fast enough. The current email spam system is archaic garbage, and it's time we move on to something that works.

Aria and other newer programming languages designed for AI may start to take off in the next few years. I see this as an underrepresented category of technology right now considering the potential gains in efficiency.

McMaster-Carr's website is the absolute gold standard for UI/UX and web development. It should be studied as the pinnacle of web engineering in every classroom. If your site or application isn't as fast, smooth, reliable, and easy to use as theirs, then get back to work.

The concept of the presumption of innocence really means nothing if some people are waiting for trial for years in a jail cell. At that point they are treated as guilty and going to trial to prove their innocence. We have so many empty platitudes.

USPS is the only place where you can walk in and there are 3 people in front of you, and you're happy it's only going to take 45 minutes.

I hate electric stovetops because everything sticks horribly. Many people don't realize it, but electric stovetops cycle to manage heat, that cycling causes pans to expand and contract rapidly which causes food to stick. Nothing sticks on my gas stovetops with constant heat.

Gambling on already-known information or controlled decisions should not be legal. If insiders can bet on their own choices or private data, it鈥檚 not a free market.

It's a shame culture has to associate sewing with femininity, because it's a very interesting hobby. I make all sorts of unique custom clothing, accessories, and embroideries that are otherwise impossible to buy.

Every single prompt on Gemini now results in major spelling errors on response, often to the point that it is illegible. I cannot get a single prompt without these obvious errors. It has progressively gotten worse over the past ~4 months. Pulling data from Reddit was a mistake.

One of the craziest parts of the Theranos scandal is that they really did build a small device that could test on a few parameters. While short of their 200 goal, it was still a promising concept in some ways. I hope others continue to carry the torch.

It's amazing how we can entirely end car theft and carjacking. The technology is cheap, robust, and accessible... but nobody is really doing it in a concerted way. The efforts to implement those tools are lackluster at best. It's an industry ripe for advancements.

George Orwell perfectly predicted the future. Sadly, it was of his own nation. It is maddening to see what the UK has become.
