For 52 years, this church had never had a logo. Taylorville Evangelical Free Church was planted in 1974 in Taylorville, Illinois. Its historic building, built around 1892, is known throughout the community for the large stained-glass windows in its sanctuary. The church wanted its first logo to express its mission from 2 Corinthians 5:20: representing Christ and inviting neighbors to hope in Him. I shaped the mark like one of those windows, then placed an open hand beneath a radiant cross. The hand offers the hope of the gospel, while the rays proclaim Christ as the light. Purple and gold connect the identity to Taylorville, while refined typography keeps it timeless. After several rounds, the elders unanimously chose the final concept.
