The mother of Henry Nowak's killer has been jailed for three years for removing the blade used to murder the 18-year-old from the crime scene.
Vickrum Digwa is serving a minimum of 21 years for stabbing Henry to death in December last year.
On Friday, Digwa's mum, Kiran Kaur, 53, was jailed for assisting her son during a killing that prompted national outrage after it emerged Digwa had claimed he was the victim and had been racially abused. Henry was handcuffed and arrested as he lay dying leading to suggestions of "two-tier" policing.
“You took the knife and put it at home with other weapons in your son's bedroom,” Judge William Mousely KC said, adding her actions had "helped to conceal what it had been used for".
A reasonable person, he said, would have asked their child to "do the right thing".
