I could really use your prayers during this season of my life. I’m not telling you all of this just to complain, but because I want your prayers. My conditions (CVID & autoimmune myositis) have brought everything to a halt. My plans, aspirations, ability to work, and many other things. Seminary is on hold. Any steps toward holy orders are on hold. On the physical side of things, I haven’t walked without severe back and leg pain in over a year. I haven’t had a night of uninterrupted or painless sleep in over a year. I’ve been hospitalized 5 times in the last year.
But I think the emotional toll is the hardest part. I never expected my life to look like this at 28. I went from traveling the world, climbing mountains, doing ministry and academic work, to having to step back from everything. There’s so much I still want to do. So much I believe I’m called to. I want to serve God, His church, and His people. I long for it daily, but I’m so limited in what I can do right now.
I don’t understand why I have to go through this right now, but I know God knows better than I. I trust that somehow He is forming me and sanctifying me through this.
Friends, would you pray for me? Pray that I don’t give into despair. Pray that I can have joy even in the midst of intense physical pain. Pray for my healing. There are signs of hope on the horizon, and my doctors do believe it is most likely possible to get me back to living a normal life, but it’s a process and takes time. Pray most of all that I become even more of the man God would have me be through all of this, and that I grow into the likeness of Christ. Much love to you all.
