CK, you had a solid reputation of being a pretty good quarterback in the NFL in your time. And that alone is one heck of an accomplishment.
Then those around you started improving in areas you maxed out out. And you were still seen as a pretty good quarterback in the NFL. Heck, I'm not a fan of the NFL and I even thought you were pretty good.
From my perspective, you and your advisors decided that since you were becoming less able to dazzle the NFL world with your physical skills your next choices to remain popular and be financially secure were limited to using your celebrity status. And that's a good move.
Obviously sports media outlets didn't see you as a good investment so you got no offers from them. And you don't have to be the best player to get those offers. You just to have to have been a respected player and have good marketable skills off of the field. And you didn't, at least to the point of being better than those already in the market. That's not saying you couldn't have been good at it. That's just saying that there was something about you that made hiring you to big of a gamble.
Then you started the P.R. campaign to gather sympathy for yourself so you could get a second chance. And for the first time in NFL history a P.R. campaign worked and you got a second chance. A couple of teams even offered you a second chance. They offered you the chance to start over and prove just how valuable you could be. And you trashed them for their efforts.
And apparently your next choice was to go for the low hanging fruit. And also apparently, the low hanging fruit fit you.
You were blessed in so many ways.
You was handed an opportunity to be voice of reason on a silver platter.
And here you are, a wealthy individual who was blessed with a wonderful life playing the victim card.
