Hey y'all, I'd like networking reposts if you can. Georgios Skiniotis and I are pleased to announce a unique faculty position at St. Jude, and we're both particularly excited about what this search could become. It is a true joint strategic effort between the Center of Excellence for Structural Cell Biology and the Division of Neuronal Cell Biology in the Department of Developmental Neurobiology. The CoE-SCB is an intellectual community of investigators developing and applying emerging structural and cellular imaging approaches to understand biological mechanisms directly within cells and tissues. The Division of Neuronal Cell Biology and Department of Developmental Neurobiology bring a complementary culture centered on fundamental questions of neuronal development, organization, and function, with deep expertise in advanced cellular imaging. We are looking for the rare scientist who pursues important questions in neuronal cell biology wherever they lead and brings advanced structural and cellular imaging to bear. If the intersection between cryo-ET or vEM and neuronal cell biology feels like your scientific home, take a look. Application link to follow in the post below👇

Quote of the conference “science is not political”. Thank you @joannepikedrph and @alzassociation for continued support and advocacy to move our field forward regardless of policy changes. #AAIC26 #ENDALZ

Hey y’all 👋 I need a little repost magic. 🔥 The Solecki lab is recruiting MULTIPLE postdocs for a chromatin imaging project at St. Jude. This work sits at the intersection of live-cell imaging, neuronal cell biology, chromatin regulation, and quantitative image analysis — and the eye-popping video below shows exactly why it’s so exciting. This may be for you if you are: • A neurobiologist who wants to become DANGEROUS in cell biology 🧠 • A chromatin biologist who wants to ditch endpoint molecular biology and actually watch nuclear states unfold in living cells 🧬 • An imaging scientist or biophysicist who wants to get messy in real cells, not idealized samples 🔬 A quantitative mindset is required. Prior experience in every area is not. If you ever imagined touring the nucleus like nuclear render and our Pol II biosensor below… reach out because WE can do it. Tag a scientist who needs to see this + RT to help us find them! 🚀 Let’s make chromatin biology history.

There are days in life that shake you. I’m shattered 💔 to share that I just found out that the US Government terminated my 2024 NIH Director’s Early Independence Award (~$2 million), threatening my long-promised assistant professor job at @Columbia & academic career... 1/🧵

The word GET is totally off base when the press or anti-science voices talk about NIH. Institutions don’t GET NIH dollars—they earn them. NIH grants are fierce competitions where only the best ideas survive to push science forward. It’s not entitlement; it’s innovation, rigor, and impact. My last two grants ranked in the top 1% and 2%, outcompeting 98% of others. Think of it like a tech bro pitching VCs—except instead of funding an app, we’re curing diseases. Every dollar funds real people solving real problems—breakthroughs don’t just happen, they’re fought for #ScienceMatters #FundTheFuture #NIHResearch
