When I thought I was ugly,
so was my life.
Not because life had no beauty.
But because I could not see it clearly.
I saw the world
through the pain I carried.
And that pain touched everything.
The things I did.
The way I acted.
The way I treated people.
The way I treated myself.
The way I forgot
that a wounded heart
can mistake survival
for identity.
But during the hardest time,
something unexpected happened.
I found love for myself.
Not the loud kind.
Not the perfect kind.
Not the kind that pretends
every part of the past was beautiful.
But the real kind.
The kind that looks at the broken places
and says:
I understand why you became this way.
And I am proud of you
for becoming something softer.
Dear God, angels, universe,
and all loving light
that sees the beauty in us
before we are ready to see it ourselves,
Thank you
for helping me find myself
in the middle of what nearly broke me.
Thank you
for showing me that I was never ugly.
I was hurting.
I was lost.
I was carrying things
I did not yet know how to heal.
But somewhere inside all of it,
there was still goodness.
Still love.
Still a soul
trying to find its way back
to the light.
And now,
I feel pride.
Pride in how I handled things
when life was heavy.
Pride in the way I kept going.
Pride in the way I still believe
in good things.
Good people.
Kindness.
Love.
Beauty.
Even after seasons
that could have made me bitter.
Dear loving light,
please bless every soul
who is learning
to see themselves differently.
The ones who once looked in the mirror
and only saw what pain told them to see.
The ones who are finally realising
they were never the darkness
they walked through.
The ones becoming kinder
to themselves
after years of being their own harshest voice.
May they feel proud.
Not because they were perfect.
But because they survived
without losing the part of them
that still wants to love.
May we all remember
that when we begin to see beauty
within ourselves,
we start seeing it everywhere.
In strangers.
In friends.
In people trying their best.
In the quiet courage
of those who still believe
this world can be good.
And I see it in you all.
The light.
The effort.
The softness.
The love you carry
even when life has not always been gentle.
Thank you.
Thank you for reminding me
that beauty is still here.
Thank you for helping me believe
that love is still alive.
Thank you for being proof
that people can heal,
grow,
soften,
rise,
and become more beautiful
from the inside out.
May we never again confuse
our hardest season
with who we truly are.
May we look at ourselves
with kinder eyes.
May we look at each other
with more grace.
And may we keep choosing love,
because love was always
the beauty trying to return.
Amen.
