The In-house writer for Infra & DeFi teams ~ I build mental models that make complex products easy to understand and easier to sell. Contributing at @AvaxTeam1.

It's Q4 and I'm not ashamed to admit that I haven't landed a job all year. I've done freelance gigs, one-off content roles and short-term projects, but we're in Q4, and I want something more permanent before the year ends. So I'm changing how I job hunt. My mantra has always been "to be the force behind the next big thing", so instead of just telling projects to hire me, I want to show them exactly how I can be that force. From today, I'm making my job hunt public. Every day until I land my next role, I'll pick a fintech, AI, Web3, DeFi or infrastructure project, research what they're building, identify an opportunity where I can contribute, create something useful around it, and pitch it directly to the team. I'll be documenting the entire process here from the research, the opportunities I find, the work I create, the pitches I send, and hopefully, eventually, the job I land. In case you don't know me, I'm Keenye The Unusual, an in-house writer, researcher and content strategist with 3+ years of experience across Web3, with a focus on technical/product communication, research-backed content and turning complex ideas into clear communication. For the next 30+ days, if you see any of my outreach posts, kindly: → Like and repost them → Tag the founder/team when relevant → If you know someone I should speak to, connect us → And if you've worked with the project before, share any useful context. I'm not just looking for a job for the sake of it, I'm looking for an opportunity to help build something great in this space. Let's see how this goes.

imposter syndrome is a very interesting concept. you know that feeling when you start doubting yourself and asking "am I really good enough?" yeah that's what I'm talking about. one thing I'm learning about IS is that you shouldn't let it stop you but you can allow it inform what you need to learn. yesterday my mind was telling me "when last did you even pitch, are you sure you still remember how to pitch" if I stayed on the thought it would have stopped me. but I didn't. instead I penned down that I'll be spending today watching videos on pitching (I'll appreciate recommendations). day 2's pitch may come a bit late because of the kind of day I had yesterday but I'm not stopping. happy weekend guys.
I’m trying to land an in-house content role before the end of Q4, so I decided to take my job hunt public. Here’s how I’m doing it: I research the company, identify a communication opportunity, create something useful, pitch it to the team. For Day 1, I've done that for @infiniFi. I went through @infiniFi's product, communication, expansion into Prime and its upcoming TGE and I observed something that should not be ignored. InfiniFi is expanding into new audiences, but the communication strategy is yet to expand with it. A DeFi user, a fintech/neobank and a more mainstream finance user don't necessarily need the same explanation of the same product. This becomes particularly important for InfiniFi, where different audiences have different questions that could be addressed through more audience-specific content and clearer product communication. Instead of writing a long post telling InfiniFi what I think they should do, I created a short communication opportunity brief containing: - how I think InfiniFi’s product can be explained more clearly - where different audiences may need different explanations - 3 communication opportunities I’d explore if I were on InfiniFi's content team. @RobAnon I'm in your DM, let's talk. cc.@infiniFi @0xmattyice @Val_bpereira @DeFiToast @0xKmack

One Continent. Many Voices. Today, Team1 Africa officially launches. The work started years ago. Team1 communities across Africa have been running workshops, university programs, and builder meet-ups in their own cities. Our progress so far: 🔺 120+ events 🔺 3,500 + attendees 🔺 250+ developers activated 🔺 Across 10 countries Africa is home to 1.5 billion people and the youngest population of any continent. Builders here solve problems they face every day, from sending money across borders to reaching customers that banks overlook. The missing piece has been the connection. A developer in Kenya rarely knows the one in Ghana working on the same problem. Team1 Africa links these communities into one network. Each country keeps its own culture, language, and way of doing things. We make sure they can find each other. Across Africa, we will focus on: 🔺 Developer workshops and technical education 🔺 Hackathons and opportunities to build 🔺 Stablecoin adoption 🔺 University programs and student communities 🔺 Founder support and ecosystem connections 🔺 Community meetups and events 🔺 Creator and community initiatives 🔺 Cross-border collaboration 🔺 Pathways into the global Avalanche ecosystem We want more African developers shipping products, more founders building companies, and more homegrown ideas reaching users far beyond the city where they started. Welcome to Team1 Africa. Come build with us.

You spend a lot of time thinking about personal brands, founders, content, and influence. Here’s a very uncomfortable question: How much of what you want is actually yours? I mean your true wants? You see another creator getting 500k views. You start wanting 500k views. You see another founder becoming known for a particular narrative, say prediction marketing or GambleFi narratives. You start wanting that narrative. You see someone becoming “the guy” for a particular topic. I remember when everyone wanted to become a space host back then. You want to become that guy as well. And eventually you might mistake someone else’s desire for your own ambition. This isn’t a dig at anyone, it’s actually a reflection of who I was becoming some months ago, and to you: it’s a mirror. The irony is that AI can amplify those feelings 👆🏽. Because AI is trained on enormous amounts of existing human expression. If you constantly ask it: “What should I say or based on your recommendation, what should I become?” You can very easily produce content that sounds intelligent while being fundamentally assembled from other people’s mediations. You become eloquent without necessarily becoming original. It’s a slippery slope and if care isn’t taken, your whole being starts becoming a facade, or should I say the common web3 term; a fugazi.

Ghostwriting is a terrible name for what I actually do. A founder called me a ghostwriter on a call yesterday. I stopped him abruptly. “No. I don’t ghostwrite.” Not because I don’t write. In fact, I write a lot. But most people's idea of ghostwriting is completely different from what I do. You give me your thoughts. I turn them into words. You post them. That’s writing. My job starts before that. I sit with you. Ask questions. Pull at the loose threads. Challenge your assumptions. Find the stories you’ve forgotten are interesting. Find the ideas you’ve been carrying around but haven’t figured out how to articulate. Then I write. That’s why I call myself a second brain. You bring the experience. You bring the conviction. You bring the point of view. I help you turn all of that into something the market can understand. I’m not trying to make you sound like me. I’m trying to make you sound more like you than you knew how to sound yourself.

“i’m tired. i can’t take it anymore.” i still remember those words like abc and the nursery rhymes i learned in primary school. but those were the words of my aunt, aunt ada, as i always called her. papa told me how she dealt with 16 rejections in two weeks. how she kept going even when a company refused to hire her because of her skin colour. i know you can relate to that, me too. papa told me how she stayed up late taking courses, practicing her craft, and building her portfolio. but what happened after the 16th rejection? read ada’s story here: heisrae.substack.com/p/the-s… #CashiWritingContest
