I’m Gen X and I can’t get enough of my granddaughter. We watch her as much as possible and invent reasons when there aren’t any. We have two more on the way and I can’t think of anything more important than helping my kids care for their kids and raise them in the faith. Are we weird? Are we supposed to be playing pickleball or something?
"For our gospel did not come to you in word alone,
but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with much conviction..." 1 Thessalonians 1:5
Too often the gospel is proclaimed in timidity and weakness. Never apologize for the gospel and never accept that it is just one way to heaven. This is one reason we stand (at Mass) for the gospel reading.
The "power" is revealed in the faithful's changed lives, not just in their theological musings. If you don't build your life on the gospel, then it does you no good.
After an expanding polyurethane injection, I am reasonably hopeful the crack is sealed. The process was not habit forming but it’s done and things are starting to take shape. The new floor is waterproof (just in case). I think in the end this will be better than before.
Great “Pope Peter” question that deserves a great answer. Why did Paul write Romans if Peter was already Pope in Rome?
Paul wrote Romans because Claudius exiled all Jews from Rome, including Peter who was Jewish.
Suetonius writes in The Lives of the Twelve Caesars (Claudius 25.4):
“Since the Jews constantly made disturbances at the instigation of Chrestus, he expelled them from Rome.”
Chrestus is Christus. Jesus Christ. Peter was preaching Christ and got exiled. Roman history reveals this episode. The Church of Rome became more Gentile as a result so Paul wrote Romans (Peter having been exiled) to address Jew/Gentile differences.
Paul refers to Peter in Romans when he claims he dares not build on another apostle’s (Peter’s) foundation in the Church of Rome.

The sacred heart devotion is clearly demonically inspired.
Does anyone sincerely think Jesus would encourage someone to carve His name into their chest?
Highly recommend watching @KeithNester1 YouTube channel, hundreds of testimonies of Prot conversion to Catholic, including many pastors, seminary professor/phd, Keith himself was a Prot pastor once.
I just love what he does!
