Perhaps more to the point, vested interests will pay big money to people to spread disinformation like this. The commentators will insist that no-one tells them what to write, but the reality is they wouldn't have a paid platform if they *didn't* write stuff like this.

Thanks - though, as you hint at, on climate change things have got so much worse, both in terms of impacts and the necessary scale of adaptation & mitigation.
About 15 years ago, I sat in my living room & watched a powerpoint you’d built making the point that climate change was overpowering our (pathetic) responses. Your discussion at the time was shocking but useful. Years later, sadly, it’s stood the test of time. Keep on keeping on.

There is no way HMG can responsibly fudge our climate commitments through theoretical use of carbon removal in future to allow new oil and gas fields to go ahead. Removing diffuse gases from the atmosphere, or even at source, is far more challenging than shifting to clean energy.
Emit today & fix it tomorrow.
