I will forever hate myself. My words never convey my thoughts and feelings. What I thought made sense is always responded with awkward silence. Sometimes I speak without even thinking and I never know what I said in the moment. I can never stay on topic. One story leads to another and none reaches a conclusion. I speak what I think in the moment. If I don't, I forget. Why can't I just be polite and wait? I can never remember your name, face, or things you would say not even 5 seconds ago. In one ear. Out the other. People and topics of the past becomes abstract. I never understand what people say. Jokes are taken seriously and I never know anything outside my interests. It's as if I'm in my own bubble. I can't hear them. They can't hear me. Whatever happened to the gifted child that my parents once saw? The one that passed every class with flying colors. He was always an obedient child that had ambition to be everything. When did he leave me? No this isn't some pity seeking party or anything like that. Frankly I was sick of lying to myself by constantly putting a brave face and tell myself how I really feel. It made me feel a lot better. Being scared of people will always being a daily problem. It's such a complicated fear for me to explain. But to the handful of people I've been able to truly be myself with no hesitation or doubt; thank you for being there for me.
