Pro knuckleballer Chris Nowlin shares secrets learned from RA Dickey, Phil Niekro & Charlie Hough with worldwide clinics, instructional videos, lessons & more.
New knuckleballers tend to pull down on the ball at release instead of extending through the top of the ball to send it rolling forward.
And 25-year MLB legend Charlie Hough schools fresh-arm Adrian Gamez on the difference during my '26 LA Clinic

The camera rarely captures the twists-and-turns of the knuckleball accurately, but the tracers at least give you an idea of what the catcher's dealing with.
The Knuckleball seems to shimmer before becoming invisible when thrown well.

Corkscrews are nasty BUT...
They are a sign that your hand is not in the correct position to consistently release a no-spin Knuckleball.
If you see a corkscrew, then externally let everyone be impressed by the pitch while you internally realize that you need to adjust.

You can achieve immortality, too. Tag me in a video of you throwing a no-spin knuck.
The entire flight of the competitive pitch thrown from a regulation mound for your age must be visible with less than 1/3 of a rotation.

Be wary of football or corkscrew spin. The movement is mesmerizing, difficult to hit and catch, but the release is just a millimeter away from a mistake. You're very close to the release that allows the ball to roll backwards and that's a knuckleballer's kiss of death.
왼손잡이 너클볼 선수! You know you've thrown the knuckleball perfectly when the movement is arm side and uncatchable. That means you stayed through the ball so long that you imparted some of your hands natural pronation into the slight rotation on the ball.
