My Top "SEMI-REALISTIC" free agents I want the Pittsburgh Pirates to sign this offseason. 1. 2B, Brandon Lowe 🟨 Coming off one of his best years of his career, it will be very hard to re-sign him to a multi-year deal when big market teams will outbid the Pirates for him. Wishful thinking but maybe a salary cap helps... 2. 3B, Teruaki Sato 🟨 It is about time the Pirates sign a star international player. Sato is a guy the Pirates desperately need. a Power hitting third baseman that can also play in the OF is needed. He slashed .311/.388/.618 with 39 home runs this season in Japan. Yes please. 3. RHP, David Bednar 🟨 Bednar likely sees the Pirates are close to being a contender. He seems like a guy that probably wants to come back to Pittsburgh an be part of something special. He would be the missing piece for this Bullpen. 4. LHP, Jordan Montgomery 🟨 The Pirates need a left handed pitcher in their starting rotation. We saw so many times last season where the opposing team had a full lineup of just lefties against our starters. He wont be expensive and probably would like the idea of pitching at PNC Park. 5. LHP, JoJo Romero 🟨 Losing Soto this offseason will likely make the Pirates need another lefty in the bullpen. Romero would be a nice replacement. Thoughts?

Ya I just can’t get into these MLB playoffs this year… I tried to watch some of the game but when your favorite team isn’t playing in it for what feels like the 50th straight year, you kind of just don’t care anymore. Go Dodgers so we can get a salary cap

Here is what the Pittsburgh Pirates starting rotation should look like in 2027: 1. Paul Skenes 🟨 Hope he finds his old self this offseason and gets back to CY Young form 2. Braxton Ashcraft 🟨 Had an incredible year and I hope can he can build off that and continue to add more innings next season. 3. Jared Jones 🟨 Started off slow, but managed to be the Pirates best pitcher in September posting a 0.93ERA 4. Bubba Chandler 🟨 Had an up and down year but showed flashes of being a very good #3 pitcher in the rotation. Excited to see what he can do next season. 5. Jordan Montgomery 🟨 The Pirates definitely need a lefty in their rotation. Montgomery will be cheaper than most and will look for a bounce back year after recovering from elbow surgery. In Sept. he finished with a 1.93ERA out of the pen for the Rangers. Expect him to want to find a starting pitching opportunity in 2027. This leaves out Mitch Keller. I think if Ben Cherington can find a trade partner for Ke’Bryan Hayes, I’m sure he can find one for Keller. I think by trading him, it will open up more money to improve the team as well. It’s time to move on from Keller.

Wish we could have seen Oneil Cruz do this in the playoffs… Maybe next year

Wyatt Sanford homers in the AFL. He is currently the Pirates #5 prospect according to MLB Pipeline. I think he could very well be a Top 100 prospect by sometime next summer.

Honest question.. If Joey Porter Jr. plays this week for the Dallas Cowboys and claims his back is now “magically healed” how is there not repercussions to that? How can the Steelers not come after him for pulling that kind of stunt?

Do you think Esmerlyn Valdez will continue to improve and have a 30 home run season in 2027? I hope so, but I am definitely concerned with his in-zone contact rate.
