Kraken Robotics’ Sub-Bottom Imager (SBI) has been deployed across offshore wind developments in Europe, Asia, and North America providing reliable cable detection and 3D acoustic imaging of buried infrastructure across a wide range of seabed conditions. In Taiwan alone, Kraken has supported surveys across seven of the country’s eight offshore wind farms, from its earliest offshore wind projects through to current developments. Across projects in the region, SBI has achieved cable detection rates of more than 95%. Imaging buried cables is a difficult technical challenge. Sediment type, burial depth, cable construction, and seabed complexity can all affect acoustic performance. SBI has been purpose-built and continually refined for this application, drawing on years of operational experience across commercial offshore projects. For route verification, cable depth of burial, and remedial assessment, that experience matters. SBI provides operators with dependable 3D sub-bottom data from the first survey, helping reduce uncertainty and the risk of additional survey work. Kraken Robotics understands that in naval operations, small details revealed through high-resolution subsea imaging can change the interpretation of an entire mission area. Rope, cables, tyres, ladders, anchors, small debris, and mine-like objects can all present differently on the seabed. At lower resolution, these objects may be harder to distinguish from true threats, increasing the risk of missed contacts or unnecessary follow-up investigations. Kraken SAS delivers high and ultra-high-resolution seabed imagery that helps operators detect, assess, and determine subsea objects with greater confidence. For mine countermeasures, maritime security, and critical underwater infrastructure surveys, that confidence supports faster decisions and a clearer understanding of what is on the seabed. Learn more about how Kraken supports naval operations: ow.ly/rcGc50ZIfYN #KrakenRobotics #SyntheticApertureSonar #SAS #MaritimeSecurity #MineCountermeasures #SubseaTechnology

Kraken Robotics’ subsea LiDAR provides operators with an accurate and repeatable way to monitor the long-term movement of critical subsea infrastructure. Flowlines and jumpers can gradually move over time due to thermal expansion, seabed interaction, and operational loading. Monitoring that movement helps engineers understand asset behaviour, assess long-term trends, and support informed asset integrity decisions. The video below overlays high-resolution subsea LiDAR datasets acquired in 2016, 2019, and 2024 at approximately 1,500 metres water depth, revealing measurable infrastructure movement over time. The repeat surveys are conducted without any physical contact to the structures/jumpers and provide engineering-grade 3D data in half the time compared to other methods. Kraken Robotics' Synthetic Aperture Sonar (Kraken SAS) captured these images of concrete mattresses protecting a subsea cable. While the mattresses are clearly identifiable in the overview, the level of detail becomes apparent when zooming in. Individual concrete blocks measuring just 20 × 20 cm remain clearly resolved at approximately 55 m range, demonstrating the consistent, high-resolution performance of synthetic aperture sonar. SAS imagery enables survey teams to move beyond simply locating infrastructure to understanding its condition, providing greater confidence when assessing critical underwater infrastructure. Learn more about Kraken Robotics' Synthetic Aperture Sonar: ow.ly/tKIw50ZqUe8 #KrakenRobotics #SyntheticApertureSonar #SubseaTechnology #OffshoreEnergy #MarineTechnology #CriticalUnderwaterInfrastructure

Kraken Robotics' 3D acoustic Sub-Bottom Imager (SBI) can be deployed in shallow water and nearshore environments utilizing our GeoArm and GeoLink platforms. Designed for stable vessel-mounted survey operations in water depths up to 15m, the GeoArm allows SBI surveys to take place in areas that are difficult to access with traditional towed or ROV-based solutions. The GeoArm was initially designed to ensure cables could be surveyed along the entire cable route - from the intertidal zone to the offshore asset. Since its design, the GeoArm's portfolio has rapidly expanded, surveying around harbour infrastructure and in fluvial environments. Operating in maximum water depths of 8m, the GeoLink is the ideal solution for shallow port and harbour surveys, due to its maneuverability. The GeoLink has a strong track record, particularly for ferrous and non-ferrous UXO surveys. Using our SBI technology, operators can locate and image buried cables, pipelines, boulders, and UXO in the shallow-water zone, supporting route clearance, asset integrity, and offshore energy projects.
