Reliability is the one of the biggest open challenges in AI right now. Current models work out okay if a person will be reviewing the outputs (eg drafting code), but it will become more of a bottleneck as we want systems to act with more autonomy and more trust.
What will be the “RLHF” moment for robotics? What will it take to get robotics to where LLMs are today and beyond?

to be clear, this is always why I was against robot-vs-robot boxing. it starts out as entertainment, but it doesn’t stay that way. imo this only further reinforces the fear-based narrative the public is being sold about robots and AI.

This is literally an argument against representative government itself. He's arguing for an autocracy of elites rather than a republic where a legislative body will inevitably have a range of backgrounds and expertise as they craft overarching policy.
Beyond that, its not like members of Congress are food inspectors, FDA scientists, or doing enforcement at the SEC. This is just the dumbest possible excuse to not do anything as a Congress.
Do your job as a legislator or get out.
