Honoring Our Fallen. Remembering Their Sacrifice. The #LACoFD was honored to join firefighters, families, and fire service leaders from across the United States and Canada at the IAFF 40th Annual Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone was joined by chief officers, labor partners, firefighters, the Honor Guard, and Los Angeles County Firefighters Pipes & Drums to stand alongside the families of our fallen firefighters as we paid tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities, including four of our very own: 🚒 Captain David Gonzalez 🚒 Captain Michael Mercado 🚒 FFS Ismael Villalta-Ayala 🚒 FF Dustin Roberto The memorial is a solemn reminder that while our fallen may be gone, their courage, dedication, and service will never be forgotten. We remain committed to honoring their legacy and standing beside the families they leave behind.

#PalosIC 🚒 Today at 2:25 p.m., #LACoFD FFs responded to a mutual aid request from the @lhhfire for the Palos brush fire burning near Las Palomas Drive in the City of La Habra Heights.   The fire burned 17 acres and is 41% contained. Four Genasys zones were placed under evacuation warning.  Two homes were destroyed and two outbuildings sustained damage.  One firefighter and one civilian sustained minor injuries and were transported to local area hospitals for further evaluation.  The cause of the fire is under investigation. 📸 Doug Morrison, LACoFD Photographer

Many of our #LACoFD firefighters, including Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone and Chief Deputy Jon O’Brien, are in #NewYork today to show their support on this solemn 25th Remembrance of 9/11. Across #LACounty today, our men and women will also be in attendance at multiple remembrance ceremonies to honor and pay tribute to the nearly 3,000 innocent lives taken at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and on Flight 93, including 343 firefighters and 71 law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.
