Yesterday I spent the morning volunteering at Skid Row with
@joey_tuccio &
@SWOTNonprofit and met Tigger and her owner. Tigger appeared to be well taken care of, was gentle and happy. Tigger’s dad was polite and kind and grateful for it being Sunday to get some food, clothing and dog food courtesy of @startswithonetoday.
This was a gentle side of Skid Row but make no mistake- the streets are cruel, filled with people who have become homeless, addicted to drugs and have been disregarded by society and the system. What’s even more heartbreaking are seeing the children and the dogs- these are living souls who did not ask for this life but are being forced to- everyday. I’ve been home for 24hrs and my heart is still hurting. How any elected official at the city and county level refuse to do anything is beyond comprehension.
It’s their duties.
The city is their responsibility. They choose to do absolutely nothing.
I met
@MichaelGatesESQ yesterday and I absolutely believe that he will conquer this atrocity. I met Gates’ campaign publicist Nezzie, who has been a supporter of mine from my supervisorial run and I can tell you this- she doesn’t stand for BS - Gates is real.
Until Gates is elected I find myself looking forward to this Sunday and the next one and whenever I can to help these adults, kids and dogs who the money machine has thrown away and left to rot for profit. LACCD Board of Trustees is part time - if I’m elected, with all that extra time I will not stay quiet.
Ballots arrive in mailboxes October 5th for the November 3rd election.
Vote for
Michael GATES for Attorney General.
Vote for
Tonia AREY for LACCD Board of Trustees Seat 6.
LIVES DEPENDS ON IT.
