A message from President Jim Henderson:
I just informed our campus community of my intention to retire at the end of the calendar year.
Serving as Louisiana Tech's 15th president has been the joy of my career. Returning to a college campus and engaging with faculty, staff, and students was exactly as I predicted — energizing and indescribably rewarding. What I could never have predicted was the warmth Tonia and I received not only from each of you but from the Ruston community at large and the broader Tech Family.
In the coming weeks there will be opportunities for conversations and proper goodbyes. Today, I want to affirm to you that this university, an institution with a sterling reputation and one steeped in history, is made better by the Tech family. You have enriched my life immeasurably. For that, I am grateful.

Are you traveling for graduation this Saturday? Several City of Ruston improvement projects are ongoing. Anticipate construction causing increased traffic and potential delays. Alternate routes from I-20 should help you reach the Thomas Assembly Center while avoiding heavy construction areas:
🚗 I-20 Eastbound (From Shreveport-Bossier) – Take exit 83 onto Tarbutton Rd. Head south on Tarbutton Rd before turning east (a left turn) onto LA-150 until you reach the Thomas Assembly Center.
🚗 I-20 Westbound (From Monroe-West Monroe) – Take exit 85 onto Hwy 167 (N Trenton St) south until you reach W Alabama Ave. Turn west (a right turn) and stay on W Alabama Ave until you reach the Thomas Assembly Center.
