Admittedly frustrating on several different levels. 1) Sounds a little bit like trying to play the game of saving your job. 2) If Kentucky doesn't have one of the most expensive rosters...WHY NOT? 3) No school means anything to any of these kids. Just pay the $$$ and get them.
How expensive is this UK roster? Mark Pope: “We’re Kentucky. We’re always going to be really, really competitive in terms of NIL.” But… “We’re rarely going to live in a place where we offer the most money.” READ: on3.com/teams/kentucky-wildc…

👏🏾👏🏾 This means a lot to the kids who battle this daily as well. Setting the bar.
POWERFUL: #Browns rookie WR KC Concepcion has battled a stutter his entire life but he still makes it a point to speak with the media after every game. KC continues to show incredible courage and is an inspiration to everyone who struggles with a stutter.

OK I’ve finally watched this. I was expecting I’d be Team Kelsey but he just kinda comes across as…not that sharp on the stand. He’s right that the rules can’t be enforced but rather than engage with the nuances/contradictions he just does the performative bluster thing
Pat Kelsey on the witness stand is electric: "Tell me the rules and I'll follow them! Nobody follows them. You're trying to trick me with a bunch of stuff. END THE CHAOS! END. THE. CHAOS."

NCAA did tell people the rules. Some just opted not to follow them.
Good for Pat Kelsey for saying this in court directly to the NCAA. “Tell me the rules and I’ll follow them. But no one does. And then every time something happens, a lawsuit happens, so nobody knows [the rules].”

Listen, I love PK. Not a criticism of him - because I've heard a lot of coaches say similar stuff The thing is though, the NCAA actually has been clear on the rule. Never, at any point did they say 2022 graduates would get a fifth year. Coaches assumed they'd cave and give blanket eligibility to everyone. They didn't. The rule has actually always been clear here. Again, not a criticism of him, because I've seen a bunch of coaches make similar claims

Not blaming Pat Kelsey for anything here, but the NCAA did say the rules and it’s that 2022 guys aren’t eligible. Nobody wants to follow those rules and this is the shit we’re doing two weeks before the season. Not blaming anyone on either side. It’s just a mess.

The NCAA told Pat Kelsey and everyone else the rules, first in April and then in June. People chose to sue to get around them and then tell the NCAA it's their job to stand down.
