I lost the Islam argument, because I couldn’t defend it anymore. Not because I didn’t want to, but because it gave me no reason to honestly be able to defend it anymore.
It was the best thing that ever happened to me.
I went into my study of the Bible to win.
To defend Islam, expose corruption, close the case.
I was so sure.
And I lost.
Detail by detail, the evidence went the other way.
The Bible was the true record.
The Quran was the retelling.
The corruption claim collapsed.
For a while, that terrified me. Losing meant losing everything, family, community, the whole world I’d built.
But here’s what I found on the other side of losing:
I didn’t lose the truth.
I finally FOUND it.
I didn’t lose God. I finally MET Him, as a Father, not a distant Master. I didn’t lose myself.
I finally became who I was made to be, a son.
“Whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Matthew 16:25.
The best thing that ever happened to me was losing an argument I was desperate to win.
Because winning it would have kept me in the dark.
Losing it walked me into the light.
“I once was lost, but now am found.”
If you’re afraid to lose this argument, afraid of where the evidence leads. I understand.
But on the other side of losing is the only thing worth finding.
His name is Jesus. Lose to Him. It’s the only loss that’s actually a gain.
