Hubbard has been offering beachfront yoga sessions on the bluffs overlooking Law Street Beach in San Diego's Pacific Beach for the better part of 17 years. Due to a recently amended ordinance, community gatherings of four or more people that are considered a business are no longer permitted in the City of San Diego. Today, Steve was cited and the future of his donation-only yoga classes is in jeopardy.
Yesterday, a local attorney representing these instructors served a cease and desist letter to San Diego city leaders, including city attorney Mara Elliot and Mayor Todd Gloria, over its enforcement of the new law.
According to the letter, the yoga instructors will also be filing a lawsuit to pursue an injunction against enforcement of the ordinance
