Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Bhuvi) is making a full-circle comeback at the same venue where it all started.
He made his T20I debut on Christmas Day, 25 December 2012, against Pakistan at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and immediately impressed with figures of 3/9 in four overs (economy of just 2.25), though India lost the match.
His last international appearance before this return came nearly four years ago on 22 November 2022, in the third T20I against New Zealand at McLean Park in Napier, where he went wicketless (0/35) in a rain-affected match that ended in a tie via DLS.
He is the first Indian bowler to take a five-wicket haul in all three formats (Tests, ODIs and T20Is), and interestingly, his first wicket in each of those formats was a bowled dismissal.
