ALT The LPS Focus Programs Fall Information Night is on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, 6-8 p.m. The event will be at Lincoln Northwest High School, 4901 W Holdrege St. The event starts promptly at 6 p.m. Enter and park near door #18 on the south side of the building by the track. It’s open to LPS students and families in grades 8-11.

ALT What's your favorite SFP Memory? My favorite memory was going to Cedar Point and playing with a real-life battleship. What's your favorite portfolio? My favorite portfolio was for Geology. We got to collect rocks and write about them. What's next after SFP? I will be attending the University of Kansas at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, majoring in geology.
ALT What's your favorite SFP Memory? Spending time at Cedar Point, playing volleyball, kayaking on the lake, hanging with my friends in my cabin. What was your favorite portfolio? my favorite portfolio was the math clock portfolio. I liked how I had to challenge myself to make math problems to What's next after SFP? I am planning to work and take a gap year. After my gap year I am going into robotics engineering at UNL.
ALT SFP Senior Spotlight Cara Rezac WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SFP MEMORY? My favorite memories were at Cedar Point Biological Station watching the sunrise and sunset every day with my friends. WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PORTFOLIO ? My favorite portfolio was from my freshman year biology class. Instead of one big portfolio at the end of the year we did smaller portfolios throughout the year. I really enjoyed creating an animation that showed the process of meiosis and mitosis, creating an evolution board game, and evaluating the forest health and biodiversity of the Jamaica North trail. WHAT’S NEXT AFTER SFP? I will be attending Kansas State University studying Biology with possibly a focus on Wildlife Ecology and Conservation.

My favorite memories from my times at SFP have been staying after school to hang out and talk with my friends and teachers, or going to Antelope Park to play games and hang out. What's your favorite portfolio? My favorite portfolio is the “Would you like to play a game?” Math portfolio. I enjoyed coming up with different rules and twists for the game, along with fun problems for the cards. What's next after SFP? I am going to be an honors student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to study Biological Systems Engineering.
