Wings have become a subject that I’ve increasingly been drawn to when creating concepts and discovering art that speaks to humanity’s evolving story with money, power, and freedom. This piece from the incomparable @LRedhorns has become a personal favorite of mine. It’s a piece that perfectly captures the very moment we consider a most consequential choice now before each of us—in an age when fiat still reigns. I hope you enjoy this artwork by Lady Redhorns, and curatorial interpretation by Start with Sats Studio. *** Through this vivid work, contemporary expressionist artist @lady_redhorns revisits, in an unexpected way, a familiar Biblical narrative, inviting us to explore humanity’s enduring struggle with temptation. An explosion of electric color flooding the canvas heightens the tension of a singular moment of temptation, defined not by dramatic conflict, but by quiet contemplation. A crimson tempter lingers beside an angel, his posture and expression conveying a feeling unfamiliar to him—one of uncertainty. His puzzled gaze reveals the concentrated question in his mind: “What is he waiting for?” The question is founded, with the angel’s gaze turned not toward the offer in the tempter’s hand, but instead, turned toward the manifestation of his very essence. Amid the visual intensity of the work, the resolute angel remains the composition’s still point, with his composed, contemplative consideration directed at his wings—representative of his capacity to rise above impulse, to flourish according to his nature, and to remain faithful to who he is. In this sense, the painting suggests that temptation is not always a choice between good and evil. More often, it is about deciding whether what is offered is worth what would be surrendered.
