1st round ever, May 7, 2026 | Quickest beginner to break par | Goal is to be the 1st to pick up golf after 25 and win a PGA event. YouTube: Lars4Par ⛳️

United States
Picked up golf clubs late April. Shot an 86 my 1st round, I then told myself to hit the pedal and go for the moon. I turned golf into a 24 hour job/career, then I broke par 2 weeks after my 1st round. My goal going forward is to be the 1st person to pick up golf clubs after the age of 25 and win an event on the PGA TOUR. The odds are essentially 0 and I’m aware of that, however I have a deep deep desire to defy the odds. Obviously majority of people will hate but I want to build a supportive community of golfers from all skill levels and walks of life. We’ve got a camera man secured for the YouTube launch, also @pray_for_birdie and I are going to be starting up a podcast sometime this winter themed around simplifying golf and the learning curve for beginners. For those who will follow and tune in we very much appreciate it. Cheers to the lifelong journey.⛳️ Par 3. Par 4. New driver is getting shorter shaft and grip so I just have the 5 hybrid for now.
Larry Nelson. Vietnam to the Golf Hall of Fame. He picked up clubs after the war and taught himself how to play. He learned from Hogan’s book. He broke 100 his 1st round and shot 70 in under 9 months. Years later he won 10 PGA events and 3 Majors. Most inspirational golf story to me, I am now going to try my absolute best to replicate something similar. Defy the odds, don’t let others put you in a box. “WHY NOT YOU?” Real journey starts Monday in Utah. Golf rocks🍿🏌️

Friday night: Left foot, right foot, back to target. 🔁
Without a doubt the most effective thing I did when I started golfing was worrying about compressing the ball and being athletic over having the perfect mechanics. These videos were 2 weeks after my 1st round. This has been coined as the “Steph Curry drill” by @drakesmith__ but it did wonders for me accelerating my learning curve. Hitting it unorthodox makes it easier to hit normally, it’s a muscle memory builder.

Forces you to hit down on the ball, when I started I always thought I needed to hit up on the golf ball

Searching for feedback! Next time you have a ton of time before your round spend 1.5 hours putting and chipping before you tee off. See how low you can go ⛳️

This guys murders it. We played with a guy here in Pre-Q the last two days that was flying it 320-330 at 55 degrees and rainy. He said all he does it workout. You cannot fake speed, you have to train for it. Speed without the strength to control it will have you injured or hitting it all over the place. IMO gaining strength and adding speed to it, is the best way to go about it. We are coming up on Fall/Winter, the best time of the year to do this. You could be a different golfer by the time you tee it up in the Spring.
Golfers: Confidence is king in golf. Want to show up to the course confident? Lift and train off the course. I don't know anyone who has ever regretted a workout.

Self taught you say? 👀
My self-taught friend challenged me to a 9 hole match and it was a lot closer than y’all might expect. Check it out here or on my YouTube channel Nickjindalgolf. Lot more production work went into this one worth the watch!
