The leafs management knows something about Knies that others don’t. I’m trusting this play and believe Marchenko will be a bigger upside than Knies.

4 million dollars shy of what Ovi has made in his entire career btw. We’re talking about the current projected 2nd highest paid winger in NHL history and his agent got on a podcast and was mad about the Leafs GM 4 GMs ago not giving him schedule B bonus
$166,743,000 USD in guaranteed contracts (nearly a quarter of a billion dollars CAD) signed by age 28 by the way.
Without counting any of the endorsement $ that came with being a hometown star playing for the Leafs.

Daniel Alfredsson is a Maple Leaf, I couldn’t care less that he captained a rival.
If one of the smartest hockey minds in the game wants to help your team, you hire him.
His experience is invaluable, & having another Swedish legend alongside Sundin is a great addition.

If it’s such a problem that the flyers offer sheeted Carlsson, Anaheim should have signed him before July 1st / Free Agency.
Fair game & good play by the flyers

Bobrovsky more than likely gives #72 to McKenna.
I don’t see a world where Bob says I want the number for 2-3 years over McKenna having it for 15 years+
McKenna says “probably not” to the question of him retaining No. 72 this season now that Bobrovsky is signed, paying tribute to his Stanley Cups. Says he faces a tough choice as his next two preferences, 9 and 27, are retired by Toronto.

This is a deal that gives us an experienced goalie and one to mentor Artur Akhtyamov.
With the Calder Cup run he had there’s no doubt Artur could be a future top goalie with the right mentorship/development.
