I turned 29 today and safe to say the past 2 years have been the best of my life. 2 years ago I remember celebrating my birthday with the Guild in Santa Monica during Nerub-ar Palace after riding the high of killing Nexus Princess Kyveza. In these 2 years I became the Co-GM of the Guild, I've won 5 race to world firsts in a row, seen my closest friends win BlizzCon MDI, I worked on myself and lost 60lbs, I redecorated my apartment to finally display all my statues and swords, I led negotiations for a great new 5 year deal between Team Liquid and the Guild and met so many new friends along the way. I love my entire guild and have them all to thank for getting me through these years but I'd like to specifically thank @Boomiexd for not only being my closest friend but for picking up so many tasks that I couldn't cope with at the height of prep and negotiating. It's not a coincidence he joined at the start of the Liquid dynasty. One of my favourite parts of my position is bragging about how good my players are and at BlizzCon I had the privilege of sitting with Boomie’s wonderful girlfriend and family to watch him win MDI, all while getting to tell them just how impactful he has been to the team's success and how he's grown into an impactful leader in the Guild. A lot of people asked me at BlizzCon how we overcame the “despair” of waking up to an almost certain loss and somehow won. For this I’ll refer to Tolkien’s words: “It is not despair, for despair is only for those who see the end beyond all doubt. We do not. It is wisdom to recognize necessity, when all other courses have been weighed, though as folly it may appear to those who cling to false hope. Well, let folly be our cloak, a veil before the eyes of the Enemy!“ Cheers to another 5 years #LetsGoLiquid
