I just really started using the Space plus F find command on the braille display and the iPhone today. It works great. I think it will be added to my go-to list of favorite commands.
I recently got a new iPhone and have had trouble with face ID. I have it sent on inattentive mode. I now have consistent results if i line up the top of my phone with the top of my head then move it away from my face. Works like a charm.
Sad to note that @blindAlive is closing its virtual doors at the end of the year. Mel Scott created a niche that will be missed. Best wishes to her and her amazing staff.
For the first time, @TEDxSeattle provided captions via @mstranslator! I was able to follow along on screen & my phone, in 60+ languages. It was an invaluable service not only for the deaf/HoH community, but for those who speak other languages too. linkedin.com/feed/update/urn…
#aira.io morning wake me up. Which yogurt is which? So fast; so simple. I am making home made yogurt in the instant pot and did not want to accidentally open the plain one just yet.
I love the instant pot! We have tried pinto beans, bean soup, rice, and chicken thighs so far. It is great to have a new kitchen toy because it is a good motivator to try different things. I just need to figure out how to use the more advanced settings. But this is fun!
Great keynote speakers at #VRATE. Bil Boules reminded us that teaching is more than breaking things down into steps, but it's important to believe in the capabilities of the individualsbeing taught. Mike Armstrong said to make the most out of each day. David from FAR is next.
I used Biblos to convert some teaching notes from a Word document into brf files and uploaded them onto my Focus 40 fifth gen. Appreciate the free option.
I was surprised at how many people identified by applause who still use cell flip phones with buttons. So much lost productivity. Is it training, or resistance to change or difficulty with gestures? Random thoughts of #ACB18.
Someone put a large sign on the sidewalk right in front of where wheelchairs and pedestrians walk in order to cross the street. I am tired of finding these signs for advertisements. I picked it up and moved it over. Is this the wrong thing to do? )e there ordinances?
Learning Nougat just makes me appreciate my #IOS#iphone. I am having trouble figuring out clever ways to learn the right angle-type gestures. I up and left to go home?
