Napa, CA
Had dinner with friends last night, who brought 2 bottles of the legendary 1978 Diamond Creek Lake. The 1st had bright red fruit with floral hints & great tension—amazingly youthful. The 2nd had similar red fruit yet with exotic spices & earthy nuances. Both were delicious.

One of @LisaPBMW's first tastings of the Napa 2022s with Scott Becker & Benoit Touquette #RealmCellars, because they’ve pushed their #2022releases out early and because their range tends to be a telling litmus test of what can be expected of the vintage. bit.ly/4ediDKq

Recent vintages of #ChateauLafauriePeyraguey, @LpLalique, reveal more luster & youthful #vibrancy than the wines of the early 21st century, with even greater intensity & stamina. There is still gold to be discovered in #Sauternes. #liquidgold #winereviews bit.ly/4bIqMot

#Bordeaux2023 was a game of winners and losers. Not a “classic” great growing season nor a consistent one, yet some classically styled wines at the pinnacles of greatness have emerged from the 2023 Bordeaux jungle. #classicbordeaux #winereport #enprimeur ➡️bit.ly/4b8rc8j
