Research gives you knowledge. Understanding gives you the ability to articulate it. And conviction gives you the ability to stand by it when the script is gone. You can prepare every word of a speech, but you cannot prepare understanding. If you have actually researched a subject, formed your own view and believe what you are saying, you should still be able to speak when the script disappears. Harry demonstrated none of that when the teleprompter failed. What it exposed was Harry’s inability to stand on his own words.
