Kerry Packer the Australian media mogul had plenty of 500k+ bets with Sydney bookie Bruce McHugh, he also had similar bets with a couple of bookies in the Melbourne betting ring as well.

30 grand sterling in betting ring at Cheltenham. The year Nick Dundee fell in the Royal and Sun Alliance Chase. Around even money if memory serves. (Open to correction).
I was around 19 or 20 at the time.

JP McManus 1992, I seen him scurry up past me to Sean Graham and hearing him say £15k each way and 8k win on Natalies Fancy at 40/1 for the Guinness handicap hurdle. No money changed hand. The horse won.

Had to check dates on RP website: Naas Feb-06 heard a guy call GBP£100k @ evs with David Hyland on the bumper jolly Leading Run
Cheltenham 2003. JP had a bet with Freddie Williams. Didn't hear it but he scrubbed the price Coolnogorna. RP reported 150k @ 5/1. Presume that was it

Oh no... dear Richard O'Sullivan has died, at 82. A master of the comic arts. Adored in shows inc Man About the House & Robin's Nest. Thanks to Brinsworth for caring for Robin since illness stole him in 2003. Here @ElstreeStudios at a sitcom reunion. The MATH film was made here.
