5TH DEC 2026
We officially announce our 🔥
NEXT BIG TOURISM & RUNNING EVENT OF 2026! 🔥
After the incredible energy of Kasese, we are taking the party, running, culture and tourism experience to Gulu City!
I’m excited to announce that, following a brief virtual meeting with our Top Boss,
@FGimara, we agreed that the 3rd Edition of the Gulu City Marathon is going to be bigger, better and more epic!
Our target: 4,000 runners from Uganda and across the world! 🌍
As a certified marathon, Gulu is positioning itself as one of Uganda’s exciting new destinations for sports tourism, culture and adventure.
📍TWO DAYS OF RUNNING, CULTURE & TOURISM
This will be more than just a marathon.
We are creating a two-day tourism and cultural experience, featuring:
🎉 Gulu Cultural Festival & Dinner – 4th
🏃♂️ Marathon Weekend & Marathon Night
🎭 Cultural performances & exhibitions
🍽️ Traditional Acholi cuisine
🛍️ Local arts, crafts & cultural products
🌍 Tourism exhibitions and destination experiences
🎶 Music, entertainment & networking
And because Gulu is the heart of the Acholi region, we are putting culture and tourism at the frontline of this edition.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore some of Northern Uganda’s incredible attractions, including Murchison Falls National Park, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Ajai Wildlife Reserve, Acholi cultural sites and communities, while experiencing the unique hospitality, food, music and traditions of the region.
🗺️ ROAD TO GULU CAMPAIGN
We are calling upon Tour Operators, Travel Companies, Hotels, Content Creators and Tourism Stakeholders to start preparing special “Road To Gulu” itineraries that combine the marathon with unforgettable tourism experiences across Northern Uganda.
Imagine:
