Five more Route 66 Centennial Community Unifiers were installed this week! 🎉 When the project is complete, every town along Route 66 in Oklahoma will have a fully customized Community Unifier—giving travelers a fun, memorable place to stop, take a selfie, and add another unique Oklahoma destination to their collection. It’s a win for everyone: getting tourists out of their cars, encouraging them to explore our communities, and building city name recognition all along the Mother Road. Five more communities. ORU celebrated the grand opening this wk of the David & Barbara Green Centre for Global Leadership. The Greens have played an integral part in ORU’s current record enrollment, physical expansion (85M in projects this past summer), and academic growth. So thankful!

At the Tulsa Regional Tourism Annual Meeting earlier this week, we presented a citation from my office to the cast and crew of The Outsiders musical to express appreciation for what the show has done for Tulsa. The production recently reached the milestone of 1,000 performances while taking Tulsa to a global audience. Definitely a must-see show! Stay Gold!

Former Oklahoma Labor Commissioner Mark Costello, who tragically died in 2015, was a dear friend and dedicated public servant for our state. It was one of the highlights of my time in office yesterday to help honor his memory by surprising his wife, Cathy, and daughter, Anna Marie, by renaming the conference room in the Office of the Lieutenant Governor as the “Labor Commissioner Mark Costello Memorial Conference Room.” We were joined by several of Mark’s friends and former staff who worked for him. It was wonderful to spend time together to remember Mark’s life and legacy.
