The roof starting to go onto Tina’s hospital. I still genuinely don’t feel like it’s real. All I can think of is the 1000s of street dogs who will have their lives changed here. Tina would just love it 🎾❤️

💔 9 TURKISH RESCUE DOGS & TWO BRITISH RESCUE VOLUNTEERS TRAGICALLY LOST IN A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT TODAY 💔 Today the rescue world has been shaken by an unimaginable tragedy. Our rescue friend Claire Dalton of Homeward Bound Rescue in Turkey has fought for years to protect and save dogs who had nobody else. These nine precious dogs had finally left Turkey and were en route to Claires home in France, heading towards the brighter future Claire had fought so hard to give them. They were being transported by two British women volunteers helping to get them to safety when their vehicle was involved in a devastating accident on the motorway in Romania. Tragically, both women and nine dogs of the ten dogs lost their lives. The one dog who survived will be collected and cared for by a Romanian rescuer today. For Claire and her team this is simply unimaginable. To fight so hard for these dogs, keep them safe and finally see them begin their journey to a better life, only for it to end like this, is heartbreaking. Our thoughts are also very much with the families and loved ones of the two ladies who lost their lives while helping these dogs on their journey. Pictures of the accident are widely available on the internet, but out of respect for everyone involved, we have chosen not to share them. Rest peacefully, beautiful dogs, and the two ladies who were taking you towards your new lives. 💔🐾 From all of us at SSRAI, our love and thoughts are with Claire and everyone affected by this terrible tragedy.

I think i told her everything deep in my soul. I shared all my insecurities, worries and dreams. I told her I loved her 1000 times a day and cried into her warm fur. But there isn’t a day that goes by where I wouldn’t just love an hour or if I’m being a greedy a full day to just walk and talk with Tina. I don’t really know what comes after we pass away ourselves. Some part of me wishes it’s just a collection of dogs waiting there and Tina will be at the front with her tennis ball 🎾. I can’t imagine any dog or indeed pet owner would disagree.

⏰ 24 hours to build a hospital for dogs 🏃‍♂️ 120km or 80 miles ☔️ Some tough weather 💰 Over $1.5 million raised There were some serious highs and lows but the hospital can now be fully finished and staffed ❤️

While the run was challenging today the actual work goes on full speed on the hospital for street dogs. The roof is being built off site and will be added soon. You can see the size of it! 48 people on site today working hard 🐕🙏

I think a lot of people would have started following me when we rescued Rodney in Thailand. How he lived through those first days I’ll never know. To see him and run a couple of laps with him in London this weekend was magical ❤️

Rare person who puts themselves up in somewhere so basic after such a monumentally generous act. Hope they at least do room service! 💔
What sort of an idiot books a hotel room on the top floor with no lift the day after yesterday. Quite a tough night with the body / mental / emotions. But had a breakfast and starting to come around. I will not be getting out of bed today. Impossible to do so 😅
