THIS is the way we should all live. No more NO to the things we want to do. Find a way, make it happen. The journey is short but even shorter when we deny ourselves the joy of enjoying the time we have.
Two years ago today we had to tell Liv it was back.
This was our dinner after the scan, while we were still waiting. We tried to make it feel like a normal night. I tried to protect her from the fear I felt. I already knew the call was coming.
A spot on her lung. We knew what a second time meant. We were not done. A cure was only going to be possible with a miracle.
That scan is why we started saying yes. Yes to Antarctica. Yes to Japan. Yes to the fighter jet. We stopped saying no, or maybe later. We knew later might not come.
We got two and a half more years, and no regrets for saying yes.
