The classic responses everytime someone dares to show sympathy for Gaza: "Did you forget about Oct. 7?" "Do you condemn Hamas?" "Do you think Israel has a right to exist?" "If you like Palestine so much, why don't you live there?" (Now updated: If Macklemore loves Palestine so much, why doesn't he perform there?) “This is antisemitic.” “You hate Jews.”

This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss. The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes. Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment. To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.

Israeli senior Yocheved Lifshitz was asked why she shook the hand of a Qassam Brigades fighter when she was released last night from Gaza. Her answer: "They treated us gently, they provided for all our needs."

There’s something soooo cold blooded about converting from Christianity to Judaism. Like how do you just forget about Jesus like that

🚨🇵🇸🇮🇱 An AFP photographer was BEATEN with rifle butts while trying to get into a car marked “PRESS.” Palestinian photographer Jaafar Ashtiyeh was BRUTALLY attacked by armed Israeli settlers while covering violence in the West Bank. He suffered injuries to his head and torso and was hospitalized... His camera equipment was taken, while another AFP photographer says he was threatened at gunpoint. Another Palestinian man was shot in the foot. AFP says Israeli soldiers were nearby but did NOT intervene, and is demanding a full investigation. Journalists should never become targets simply for documenting what is happening... 💔 Writer: Samuel

In Gittin 57a (uncensored MSS and modern editions like Sefaria/William Davidson), Onkelos raises Jesus the Nazarene via necromancy. Asked his afterlife punishment, Jesus says boiling excrement, as one who mocks the Sages is so sentenced. The text contrasts him (a Jewish sinner who sought Israel’s welfare) with Balaam. Censored editions often replace the name with “sinners of Israel.”

My Statement on the Third Anniversary of October 7th Three years ago today, Hamas murdered some 1,200 people in Israel, the vast majority of them civilians, committed horrific atrocities, and dragged 251 hostages into captivity. The attack against Israelis on October 7th was a horrific act of terrorism. Hamas murdered Israelis in cold blood at a music festival and in their kibbutzim. The deliberate killing of innocent people is never resistance. It is a crime against humanity. It is a war crime. Like any country facing a terrorist attack, Israel had the right to defend itself and go after Hamas. Tragically, the Netanyahu government in Israel did not wage a war against Hamas alone. It waged a genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza. More than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed, most of them women, children and the elderly, and more than 175,000 have been wounded. Gaza's homes, hospitals, schools and water systems have been reduced to rubble. Instead of continuing to provide military aid to the extremist government of Israel, the United States should be doing everything possible to provide and support humanitarian aid to the desperate people in Gaza and bring peace and justice to the region. The way to honor every person lost over these three years is to end the bloodshed: No more American weapons for the extremist Israeli government, a real and enforced ceasefire, full access to humanitarian aid, reconstruction by and for Palestinians, and a genuine path to a Palestinian state alongside a secure Israel. On this solemn day, we must come together to demand a lasting peace.

Why did this happen in America???
“Welcome to the United States of Israel,” one US resident in Long Branch, New Jersey, said in a video circulating online showing more Israeli flags raised on poles than US flags.
