I want to thank everyone for all their prayers these last several weeks. These last 4 days have been the toughest 4 days of my life

This is a terrible look for Providence HS in Burbank.
AD/Coach died at age 41 of cancer and @PHSburbank put a memorial up for him in 1999: they now tell his widow that the memorial is irrelevant and was removed.

Paul Sutton was the athletic director, basketball coach, track coach and cross-country coach at Providence in Burbank. He died in 1999 at the age of 41 of cancer. The school created a memorial in the gym foyer with his photo and a plaque. Now it's been taken down. His widow, Dana, said she was told it's no longer relevant for today's students. Incredible. Imagine if Poly took Gail Goodrich's jersey down or Mater Dei removed recognition to Heisman Trophy winner John Huarte. Just embarrassing and shameful.

But corporate owners laying off people who create invaluable local stories like Joe Davidson of the Sacramento Bee don’t care about community. The budget is bottom line.
