Labeling matters for clear thinking. Angela Merkel is not a "hyper-liberal." 1. She was leader of the Christian Democratic Union, which believes that Christianity must be society's dominant set of social values. Over 80% of the party's members are practicing Catholics (~50%) and Protestants (~33%). 2. Her party governed in coalition with the Social Democratic Party, which began within the Marxist movement and strives to realize socialism via democracy rather than violence. On the immigration issue, in particular: 1a. Recall the long strand within Christianity that emphasizes giving away one's wealth to the poor, forgiving those who harm you, turning the other cheek, and so on. 2a. Remember the welfare state's entrenchment and expansion until the government is seen as the near-unlimited funder of everything in society. Those two strands come together pragmatically in Merkel's politics and explain much more of, e.g., the immigration issue roiling Germany, than does something called "hyper-liberalism."

I do. It's actually a really simple answer. Kids can understand it. I'll tell you the story now so you can be ready when you finally have grandkids, Mario Awful. For decades, Israelis tried to work with the Gazans, believing the impossible: that people who have declared that they want nothing more than to have Israel destroyed and Jews killed might be able to be persuaded to be friends by giving them land, money, resources, opportunities, and an infinite amount of patience. During those decades, huge amounts of humanitarian aid was sent to the Gaza Strip, which they used to militarize and to spend many years planning a savage surprise attack against the people helping them. Almost everyone in the world took up their cause, even many Israelis who lived right next door, even though the Gazans were taking advantage of all that help. They were offered everything but wouldn't accept it because all they wanted was Israel to be destroyed and Jews to be driven out or, preferably, dead. They were so fixated on that goal that nothing else mattered, and nothing else was good enough. They even used water pipes to build rockets and dug terror tunnels under their city and deep into Israeli territory to prepare for a surprise war. On an important Jewish holiday and their sabbath, the Gazans sprung their surprise attack. That was October 7, 2023. They launched over a thousand rockets at 6:30 am. The Israelis heard the sirens and knew they only had seconds to hide in their shelters from these attacks. By the way, every Israeli house has a bomb shelter in it because these kinds of attacks are so frequent. Also, every Israeli adult and child, little boys and little girls, knows from as soon as they can walk that when the sirens sound to go to the shelter because it is so important and so common. As the Israelis went, exhausted and sleepy, to their shelters to hide from the rocket attack, the Gazans sent a large armed force across the fence into Israel to do the most heinous things to the Israelis that you can imagine. Over a thousand were murdered. Things so horrible you cannot describe them to children happened everywhere. The Gazans celebrated and filmed themselves and put it on the internet, bragging and boasting about unimaginable horrors and murders. They dragged Israelis, including women, children, and babies and dead bodies, into their terror city and terror tunnels and started abusing and killing them slowly, using them and their corpses as collateral against the Israeli people and military. This lasted for over two years, with the last hostage's remains returned at the end of January 2026 after being taken in October 2023. The scale and nature of this attack is so horrific that it cannot be described politely, but its true evil wasn't just in the barbarity of its forces, which did unspeakable things to completely innocent men, women, and children everywhere they went, including many who openly supported them for years, but in how they took advantage of the trust and help they were given to do it. Gazans had spent years exploiting the goodwill of Israelis in the Gaza Envelope to gather intelligence, working as gardeners, housekeepers, taxi drivers, etc., to gather detailed intelligence of the neighborhoods and homes they would systematically attack starting on October 7. So many Israelis were betrayed at their trust and goodwill toward the Gazans, and by it. While they hid from those rockets in their shelters, Hamas terrorists systematically went through the carefully mapped streets of their neighborhoods, broke into houses, and shot them dead through the doors of their shelters, or crashed in through the walls from the outside using their own farming equipment to do it. Hamas terrorists knew the Israelis would be hiding from the rockets and knew where they'd be hiding, and they murdered them while they hid, deliberately, planned out in advance and for years. These people weren't just Israelis or Jews. They were innocents. In fact, as far as it goes, many of them were the greatest champions for the Gazans in Israel. Didn't matter. They were Israelis. They were Jews. They had to die in the most horrible ways you can think of. They had to be desecrated. They had to be taken hostage. It all had to be celebrated on video streamed live onto the internet to excite their radical friends around the region and the world. The horror is actually incomprehensible. Had this happened to Americans in the United States from one of its neighbors, the response Americans would have demanded cannot actually be comprehended. I stand in awe at how restrained and cautious and decent and good the Israelis have been, and it is to my slight embarrassment knowing that our own people, our own forces, wouldn't have managed a fraction of that decency, however much we would match the unparalleled effectiveness of these operations. That is, Mario Awful, I don't f*cking want to hear it, and neither do your grandkids. Respect them enough not to soil their minds with these lies, which are so evil that Hell itself would be slightly embarrassed to spread them. So, when Israel realized what had happened to them, what was still happening to them, how their trust, support, and patience had been taken advantage of in the nastiest and cruelest way human beings can possibly imagine, for zero good reasons and only unbelievably evil ones, they set out to make sure it would never happen again. They started a war of rescue and to end the military capacities of the Gazans, who were and still are governed by a radical terrorist group that even has in their charter that they want every Israeli driven out and every Jew that can be killed dead. Israel waged a patient war with the highest accuracy rate of any in the entire history of urban warfare, taking great pains and many casualties to spare innocent life, even when that innocent life openly supports the terror regime that governs them and wants them dead. The Gazans, however, had spent decades turning their entire city into a hidden military fortress, hiding weapons, entrances to terror tunnels, command centers, and every conceivable military target within civilian neighborhoods, including even homes, schools, hospitals, and houses of worship. Israel did what it had to do as carefully as it could be done. The devastation you see is the result of the evil of Hamas and the Gazans who support it having spent decades organizing their city to become a vast, sprawling military installation. The Gazans and their terrorist leaders took this organizational approach specifically for two reasons. One was to deter Israel from ever attacking or disabling their military installations at all. Even when the devastation seen here, that remained the case. Israel took great pains to minimize, including casualties, including complicated legal approvals, including warning both civilians and combatants in Gaza of incoming attacks against the installations, trying to save all innocent (and a lot of not-so-innocent) life. Another was to produce this propaganda, which Mario Awful, after having his account built to giant size by @elonmusk himself, spreads and promotes with foolish emotion-driven emojis and devastating lies of omission of these facts. Even as Israel dismantled the entire military capacity of Gaza bit by bit (which is what you see in the video here), they sent aid: more food, medicine, and other supplies than have ever been sent to a population controlled by an enemy military in the history of warfare, period. The terrorist leaders leveraged every bit of it against them, stealing it and starving their own people, creating propaganda campaigns about genocide and forced starvation, and even building more rockets out of raw materials including water pipes, which they then fired at Israel. Bit by bit, Israel dismantled as much of their military apparatus as they could and rescued or recovered all of their hostages, including among them Americans. The result is what you see. The result you see below is the most painstakingly moderate response a decent human being of even the slightest comprehension could possibly imagine, and yet that's what the Israelis have accomplished in Gaza. And they accomplished it while the world hated them for it, scrutinized everything not just for any legitimate breaches of perfection but for a litany of illegitimate accusations of things so voluminous that they could not even be recorded, except that they were in the relentless propaganda of social media, the global enemy propaganda channels, and even the mainstream press, almost all amplified and repeated by even allegedly good, decent conservatives who found these lies a perfect reason either to reveal their underlying but hidden hatred for Jews or to turn to that evil on false pretenses you are promoting, even now, even today. So when you sit down to tell your grandkids how humanity allowed Gaza to happen, tell them the real story. Humanity allowed Gaza to become a terrorist militarized city openly dedicated to the destruction of Israel and the murder and desecration of Jews and Jewish bodies by believing in some asinine humanitarian concept that defies all logic. It happened by creating a global political situation that, for reasons of Communist political correctness and soft-hearted and softer-headed compassion, refused to believe the simple reality of the situation. It happened because this delusion and misplaced trust persisted for decades while Hamas and its supporters turned Gaza into a terrorist military outpost that would simply have to be destroyed sooner or later, and then they pulled that trigger on themselves in the most obvious way possible on October 7, 2023, which stands as one of the darkest days of the last century. Humanity allowed Gaza to happen because it wouldn't take Hamas at its word. Humanity allowed Gaza to happen because it lied to itself for decades about the nature of the Islamic currents that motivate Hamas and "Palestinianism" more broadly. Humanity allowed Gaza to happen because it wouldn't address a problem correctly from the beginning, not least because it was terrified of being called racist and refused, nobly but stupidly, that human beings could be led by ideology and religion to the depths of evil and depravity that had captured the Gazans. Humanity allowed Gaza to happen, that is, because it refused to take Gazans at their word. Israel, starting in late 2023, finally woke up in the worst way possible to the need to STOP LETTING GAZA HAPPEN, the result of which your video depicts and the truth and moral of which you, like a demon, invert.

I am so thankful my dad wasn’t trying to prove any points to himself or the world and just wanted to send my brother and me to the safest and best schools he could afford (which were not the best around and it tormented him that he couldn’t do more, so he taught us and our friends at home). He did this because he’d been forced into segregated, under-resourced schools before civil rights and knew you have one shot at an education and this isn’t a game.

Everytime I watch this I laugh and I don’t know why.
