🚨 The @FDA has approved imlunestrant (Inluriyo™) in combination with abemaciclib (Verzenio®) for patients with ER-positive, HER2-negative advanced #breastcancer with an ESR1 gene mutation who were previously treated with hormone therapy. The approval is based on results from the EMBER-3 clinical trial. MSK breast medical oncologist @jhaveri_komal was International Study Chair and member of the steering committee for the trial. Congratulations to Zaza Gelashvili, a graduate student in the lab of cell biologist Dr. Philipp Niethammer at the @GSKGradSchool, who recently received the 2026 Chairman’s Prize, an annual award established by Louis V. Gerstner Jr., GSK Board of Trustees Chair Emeritus and namesake of the school, to recognize an outstanding GSK student who is the first author of research published in a scientific journal. Zaza's work has uncovered new ways that cells sense physical change and turn that information into coordinated responses. “This award encourages me to continue pursuing fundamental questions in basic research, where some of the most revealing results emerge when biological systems do not behave as predicted," says Zaza.
