Ms. @ThenamesKabu, Voice & Democracy Manager @RestlessZambia and @ReaganMwebaze0, the YouLead Africa Program Coordinator presented an overview of the African Youth Charter @20 Appraisal. The presentation reflected on the Charter’s journey since its adoption in 2006, examining the gap between the commitments made to Africa’s young people and their realities today.

Today, we celebrate young people across the continent not as future leaders, but as innovators, changemakers and leaders of today.   From climate justice, gender equality spaces, innovation, entrepreneurship and social ventures, young people are creating opportunities and solutions, that are building more inclusive, resilient and sustainable societies.   At MS TCDC, we believe that investing in young people means more than building skills. 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻; 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻. The Transformational Leadership Programme invites participants to reflect on the way they lead and the kind of impact they want to create within their teams, organisations, and communities. Since 2024, through the Danida Fellowship Centre, Danida Fellows and development partners have participated in this programme, gaining the tools and skills needed to build stronger institutions and more resilient communities. This cohort brought together 30 participants. This two-week programme moves beyond traditional management, focusing on adaptive and inclusive leadership while equipping participants to mobilise teams around a shared purpose.
