Day 5 KEYSTONE: Hands-on skills lab!
Trainees practiced critical procedures (chest tube insertion, cricothyrotomy, and venous cutdowns) using tissue models. Innovation and resourcefulness are essential in resource-limited settings to ensure quality education and patient safety.
In preparation for the essential surgical skills lab, the senior resident and tutors prepped the goat last evening to practice procedures critical for emergency physicians.
Day 4: Keystone 🏥 Emergency medicine is about saving lives and saving limbs!
Our team spent the day honing essential orthopaedic skills to ensure rapid, effective care when patients need it most. 🩺 Bandages, plaster, and teamwork in action!
