Episode 2: What Is a Crypto Exchange?
Imagine walking into a marketplace.
Maybe at a traditional marketplace where people buy and sell different products. One person may want to sell apples, while another person wants to buy them. The marketplace provides a place where both sides can meet and complete the transaction.
A crypto exchange works in a similar way.
The main difference is that, instead of buying and selling physical products, people trade digital assets, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies.
A crypto exchange is an online platform that helps users:
→ Buy cryptocurrencies
→ Sell cryptocurrencies
→ Trade one digital asset for another
→ Check current prices
→ View charts and market activity
→ Deposit and withdraw supported assets
→ Manage their crypto transactions
For example, on an exchange like LBANK, users can explore different cryptocurrencies and the markets where those assets are traded.
You may see a trading pair such as:
BTC/USDT
This trading pair represents the relationship between Bitcoin and USDT.
●BTC is the symbol for Bitcoin.
●USDT is a digital asset designed to closely follow the value of the US dollar.
●BTC/USDT shows how much USDT is needed to buy one Bitcoin.
So, if BTC/USDT is displayed as 100,000, it generally means that one Bitcoin is being valued at approximately 100,000 USDT at that moment.
Crypto exchanges may also offer different types of trading tools and orders. For example, you may be able to choose whether you want to buy or sell immediately at the current market price or set a price you are willing to accept.
However, it is important to understand that a crypto exchange is only a platform. It does not guarantee that every trade will be profitable…. But what we can guarantee you is a swift experience and good leverages.
Cryptocurrency prices can change quickly, and different assets can have different levels of risk. Before buying or selling anything, take time to understand the asset, the trading pair, the fees, and the order you are placing.
Think of a crypto exchange as a digital marketplace for cryptocurrencies.
It gives you access to the market, but you are still responsible for making informed decisions.
Using an exchange does not automatically mean you understand crypto.
Start with the basics, learn how the platform works, and never trade more than you can afford to lose.
