Today is my last day of involvement with the #Ravencoin community. It has been an amazing 8 years. I have had so many incredible experiences and met so many interesting and brilliant people. Working with and on this project has brought me great joy. The events of the last several days brought forth a need for quick action by many well-intentioned people. The solution around which consensus formed involves a hard fork that “unwound” the chain back to a checkpoint. I do not second guess the decisions of anyone involved in this fast-paced event. But I do not agree with the solution. For me, Ravencoin’s finest hour was when it did *not* unwind or revert the malicious transactions from the major exploit it suffered previously. That incident proved for me the rock solid ethos of decentralization that ran through the heart of this project straight back to the founding ideals of White Paper authors Tron Black and Bruce Fenton. My 8 years with this project (and those two guys in particular) have taught me much. I am supremely grateful to them and to you all. So like a tree falling in the woods, I will leave with a sound that may or may not be heard. I wish you all well and know that many of you will remain good friends for life. With respect, “Mango”
