For me to justify saying ILY I feel the need to be able to financially provide all that is needed to maintain stability long term. As the one who bares the responsibility and duty to maintain the household, I do not think that I could maintain stable emotional connection. Other things comes first in order for the latter to be possible. Whether or not I feel I deserve it is kind of irrelevant.
