But Jesus never said the fig tree = a secular nation-state created by a UN vote.

Baptism is a symbol of salvation in that it depicts Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.

in the Kingdom of God, they wanted special treatment for they had been serving God longer, but the owner of all things is God & chooses to bless everyone the same that follow Christ. (The Jewish Pharisees hated Jesus)
in V16 Jesus says this-16 So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.”

Many in the crowd expected liberation from Rome. But Jesus will triumph over the enemy of sin, bringing salvation to his people through his righteous sacrifice on the cross that looms ahead.
Many today believe Jesus is returning to Take over Israel as king they're missing the point just like they did the first time.
